1825 Matron Head Large Cent | XF - AU Details ...?? | Gorgeous Details!
Appears to be original surfaces. The details are absolutely sharp/stunning. Very minor signs of wear.
There is a gouge/dent above the T-Y in LIBERTY on her head. It is tough for me to decipher. It appears to be a indented (not gouged) as I can see remnants of the branches of T & Y and what appear to be some hair details... which is a little perplexing if it is dented why it wasnt completely flattened out? The indentation shows a bit on the reverse as pushing out between the E in 'ONE' and T in 'CENT'.
I'm going to leave all assessments up to you. The coin is absolutely stunningly gorgeous, and has an interesting story to tell. Beauty comes in many forms and is in the eye of the beholder!
