A very appealing 1826 better date coronet head large cent graded AU 58 by NGC that has been approved by CAC for quality. This coin holds entirely original dark chocolate brown surfaces and is seldom ever offered in this grade level. The scratches you see on the obverse are on the holder and are not on the coin. It has been housed in a slightly older style NGC holder.
This Philadelphia Mint date holds a total mintage of 1,517,425. Of this mintage, the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 4,000 have survived in all grades. It is one of just 36 graded About Uncirculated 58 by NGC. It is also one of only 16 approved by CAC for quality in this grade.
