    Description

For sale is a very cool 1827 Matron Head Large Cent grade and certified by NGC as VG Details. The Large Cent is what the original cents looked like all the way up to 1856 when they shrunk them down to what the penny is today. But back then the Large Cent was about the size of a half dollar and almost as heavy, being made of 100% copper. The Matron Heads are some of the most sought after coins of all the Large Cents. The Details designation for the coin is "environmental damage," meaning the coin has some corrosion to it, which was very typical with pure copper coins this old. As you look at the coins the exposure is not significant to the coin at all.
As you can see from the pics the coin is in really nice shape. The date is nice and bold, as is every letter in LIBERTY on the bust, which is usually the first thing to wear off these coins. The coin has a nice dark patina to it. And being graded and certified by NGC makes the coin just more sought after.
Here is your chance to own a great old coin at a great price. Thanks!
