According to online research, opinions seem to vary quite a bit regarding the Artley Wilkins model flutes, especially when it come to classification as to whether or not it's a student model, intermediate, or professional level instrument.  While the majority of today's student model flutes are closed-hole flutes it seems that this Artley with it's open-hole keys would at least qualify it as an intermediate level instrument.  Made in Nogales, Arizona, in 1976, this flute features a solid silver body and headjoint and includes a b-footjoint and was considered Artley's top of the line flute at the time it was made!  For a flute approaching 45 years of age, this Wilkins model can still sing and still looks magnificent showing very minimal wear and tear!
Cosmetic and Function Description
Body, Bell, and Finish:
the mouthplate is free of dings and dents but there are two small dents in the headjoint, one to each side of the mouthplate; the body, headjoint, and footjoint show some very light scratches that are noticeable upon close inspection, however there is little to no tarnishing to be found at all; the headjoint tenon is bent a little bit but the flute still assembles straight and firm
Keywork and Playability:
the keys all move nice and smoothly and show only a few very light scuff marks; little to no tarnishing can be found on the keywork and keys
Pads:
the pads show light to moderate wear and have a lot of life left in them
Includes:
intermediate model open-hole flute and hardshell case (this case, which is probably the original case, has the lid and bottom separated and is in Fair/Poor Condition)
