While different crops across the country yield different kernel sizes, these Missouri grown, extra large kernels are known for their consistent and reliable crop yields. With an expansion rate of 29-31 cc, this size offers more surface area for coatings and glazes to stick to.
Mushroom-style popcorn is denser and more compact than butterfly-style popcorn. Since mushroom popcorn does not include any breakable "wings" like butterfly popcorn, it holds up well against stirring and coating processes. Pop kernels at 400 degrees to form the full, round shape.
Thanks to the larger surface area, this mushroom-style popcorn is the popcorn of choice for caramel corn and kettle corn. It can even be used to add gourmet glazes for decadent, sweet popcorn treats!
Compared to large bulk bags of popcorn kernels, these popcorn kernels are packaged in a 50 lb. bag that's less bulky, easy to handle, and easy to store.
Simply follow the instructions on your countertop or freestanding popcorn machine to properly prepare. For every 1 cup of unpopped kernels, it is recommended to use 4-6 tbsp. of oil.
