Classic East German Drop Shape Street Lamps (set of 3)
Set of three original DDR Streetlamps. Made by VEB Leuchtenbau, Leipzig in the 1960’s. Street lamps such as these were once very common in former East Germany (DDR), and today, they are increasingly rare. You will see this style of lamp in old movies and photos, and sometimes still on old buildings in eastern Germany. The lamps have a very unique and unmistakable, teardrop shape. The housings are aluminum, and there are some dents on the top from hail, but this is normal for this type of lamp. These lamps are intended for 240 Volt power, so if they are to be used as functioning lamps, it may be necessary to replace the ballasts with a 120V type, which is not difficult. Bulbs are not included.
