    Description

Terrific old figural cigar holder or ashtray in the shape of an Alligator with this mouth wide open, made in Occupied Japan from 1948-52 as a souvenir of Tampa, Florida.
This Alligator can hold a cigar in its wide open jaws, or its ashes or whatever else you can fit in there. It's cast in metal with excellent detail in the scales, feet and bony head, and still has its original paint - a blackish-green on the body with beady red eyes. The top has part of the original sticker reading "SOUVENIR OF TAMPA, FLA.". The underside is embossed "MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN" with a "T" inside a Bird logo.
It measures 2.25" tall by 4.25" long by 2" wide.
A wonderful addition to any cigar holder, alligator, Occ. Japan or Old Florida souvenir collection.
