Description
In this nearly 35 year old videotape from Canada, you’ll get a behind the scenes look at how General Motors constructed the new diesels for Go Transit commuter trains. Along the way, there is a ceremony held for the new diesels after the Former Canadian pacific F-9’s & Canadian National Alco FPA-4s on via rail is officially retired for good. Along with your narrator Newton Rossiter who is famous for recording 8mm & 16mm films of CN & CP steam in regular service, there are also some clips of different types of diesels on other railroads, especially the final days of Newfoundland’s own 3 foot narrow gauge railway between port a basque & Saint John. While Rail innovations is gone as an independent company, half of the titles were owned by America By Rail creator & producer Greg Scholl in 2011 & 2013, while another batch of these ones (especially this program) were owned by Green Frog productions, as well as branch lines in transition from 1997, Toronto Union station & towers from 1999, the Algoma central tour trains from 1996 (yet waiting for tracks of the black bear from 1989), the tail end, and more.
