This is a flute. The barrel is engraved with “
    The Pedler Co Elkhart Ind
”. Each of the three pieces has the same serial number, all in the 10000 series.
I know very little about flutes. All the keys seem to work and all the pads are in place. The head joint has a protective, removable metal covering on the tenon.
I do not have a case, but will pack it well for shipping.
Harry Pedler was a clarinet and brass wind instrument maker of reknown. The company that bears his name operated from about 1920 until 1958,when it was purchased by Selmer. From about 1932 through 1937, Pedler partnered with Gus Buescher, another well know musical instrument maker. Between 1920 and 1958, the company went by several different names. This particular flute has the name ‘Pedler Co’ on it. This name came into use about 1937, so this flute is likely no older than 85 years.
