BLUE and GOLD BEJEWELED CLOISSONE BUTTERFLY

This beautiful two-compartment Butterfly Trinket Box is formed from metal (probably brass) that is decorated using the cloisonné technique of baking colored enamel between raised ridges of the metal. In addition to the baked enamel, this Butterfly sparkles with sixty Crystals. The antennae are covered with rose crystals. The wings have a continuous line of rose, green, and glue crystals along the edges. Centered on the body, a large clear crystal is surrounded by tiny rose, green, and blue crystals. A single clear crystal decorates the tip of each wing, and the eyes of the butterfly are formed with tiny red crystals that match the color of the body of the butterfly.
The sides of the box are enameled with a streaked bronze color. The bottom is enameled with pearlized creamy white. The two compartments are enameled with a delicate pearlized pink.
The trinket box is about 4 inches from wing tip to wing tip, and about 2.5 inches from the top of the antennae to the lowest point on the wings.
This little trinket box has spent the last 20+ years in a glass front curio cabinet and is in excellent, like-new condition.
The price sticker for this butterfly was removed from the original box and kept inside one of the compartments.
